On Saturday evening of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day, Tiny Treasures was honored to host the second annual Wave of Light Retreat at the Church of St. Michael in Stillwater, Minnesota, co-sponsored with the Respect Life Committee of the Churches of St. Michael, St. Mary, and St. Charles. As part of the evening, we prayed, shared our stories, and talked about the myths of grief and the spiritual truths about grief. Parents were invited to honor the memory of their little ones by putting their names on seed-embedded butterflies and hanging them on our "Tree of Life" (new this year). The butterflies can be planted and will sprout into beautiful wildflowers. Finally, Tiny Treasures, in a small display, shared some of the appropriately sized clothing that we make for babies who pass away at any stage in pregnancy, during birth, or early in infancy. It was a beautiful evening and I am honored to have been a part of it!

This sweet thank you card came in today from Woodwinds Hospital, Woodbury, MN. While certainly not an expectation, it is always nice to receive a little thanks for our work!
These sixteen layettes were delivered by Tiny Treasures's Community Representative, Deanna Loomis to Woodwinds Hospital (Woodbury MN). Included in this donation are sixty-five items: thirteen sewn blankets; eleven pairs of bereavement diapers; ten pairs of stockinette hats; six buntings; five tunics; five crocheted hats; three angel gowns; three crocheted blankets; two pairs of crocheted booties and two pairs of knitted booties; two comfort bears; one crocheted angel gown; one knitted hat; and one bereavement gown through our Brides to Babies Project.
The three components of the fundraiser were a Facebook Fundraiser shared with my own personal friends; a donation box and Silent Auction at our Fall Volunteer Drive and Open House; and a tiny fundraising appeal to new volunteers. My Facebook friends generously gave $325. The Fall Open House and Silent Auction raised $141 (the single dollar was from my ten-year-old son 🥰) and a new volunteer became a Titanium Community Sponsor with a $250 gift! 😲 Thanks to all of those who gave! Team Tiny Treasures is well prepared to ship bereavement layettes and care packages to families facing or experiencing baby loss in 2022.
Tiny Treasures opened up the Tiny Treasury on Friday, September 24, for our first ever Fall Volunteer Drive! We had an Open House, Silent Auction, Wedding Gown Drop Off, and of course, a Volunteer Drive. We enjoyed connecting with some brand new volunteers and collected a number of wedding gowns that we will transform into angel gowns through our Brides to Babies Project. Thank you to all the ladies who made the effort to come by, all the community members and businesses who donated items to our Silent Auction, and special thanks to Tiny Treasures Board Representative, Deanna Loomis, and Chris Hagen, for helping out!
Tiny Treasures gave personalized mementoes to the families who wished to receive them, as well as shared our bereavement clothing ministry with the community. A member of the public donated $10 to the ministry at the event. Starting in January 2021, we will list Team Tiny Treasures Members' and friends' creations or gifts in separate posts right here on our blog, instead of on one continuous webpage, as we did in the past. We will tag them by the creator's or giver's first name, so you can click on their "Category" and see all of their work from 2021 on, if you wish. We will also tag each blog post by the type of items given (blankets, hats, gowns, etc.) so you can click on a particular category to see examples of similar items made by our different team members!
