The Tiny Treasures StoryTiny Treasures is an outreach ministry of St. Croix Birth & Parenting LLC, a nonprofit LLC in the state of Minnesota. Team Tiny Treasures is an informal group of volunteers from around the United States who are working together to create handmade clothing and provide support services for families facing or experiencing perinatal loss.
Tiny Treasures was founded in 2013 by Christelle J. K. Hagen, BfNAEC, HCHD, ICI, PFA. Christelle is a Certified Breastfeeding Advocate, Educator, and Professional Breastfeeding Counselor, certified doula and perinatal loss doula, and the mother of fourteen children, including the seven children pictured here, and seven who passed away. The names of her "butterflies" are Kate Leilani, Luke Xavier, Lily Grace, Maximilian Kolbe, Theophilus Justin, Anais Zelie, Damaris Serena, and Valentina Hope. |
Most Active Volunteer of the Year
2022: Marilyn Kallio, 341 unique items
Marilyn has been making items for Tiny Treasures since it began, and has been consistently making beautiful items ever since, so it's fitting she finally is finally being honored as the most active volunteer of the year! Her skill shines in transforming wedding gowns into angel gowns through our Brides to Babies Project. In 2022, Marilyn sewed many bereavement gowns, buntings, diapers, blankets, and a few angel pouches and kimonos. She also created many stockinette hats! Here are some of her creations!
2021: Paulette Hagen, 59 unique items
Paulette was one of the very first Members of Team Tiny Treasures, and has been a faithful contributer to our ministry, so we are excited that she has been honored again with the title of most active volunteer of the year! In 2021, she sewed angel gowns, and crocheted blankets, bonnets, a sweater, and a bunch of booties!
2020: Sheila Wald, 195 unique items
For the third time in Tiny Treasures's history, Sheila Wald topped the list for the most active volunteer of the year! In 2020, she made diapers, buntings, blankets, and stockinette hats!
2019: Sheila Wald, 224 unique items
Sheila Wald was once again at the top of the list for the most active volunteer of the year! She made just shy of half of all the items sent to the Tiny Treasury this year! Her items included diapers, blankets, stockinette hats, and tunics!
2018: Dottie Kruse, 147 unique items
Dottie was new to Team Tiny Treasures in 2018. Yet even so, she managed to be our Most Active Volunteer! Throughout the year, she sent a beautifully made assortment of blankets, buntings, stockinette hats, diapers, diaper ornaments, and tunics!

Kay was once again at the top of the list for the most active volunteer of the year! She gave an enormous box full of the sweetest blankets, buntings, tunics, diapers, tissue holders, diaper ornaments, tunics, and angel gowns!

Sheila nearly made 500 unique items just for Tiny Treasures! She gifted the Treasury throughout the year with blankets, diapers, buntings, stockinette hats, tunics, and teddy bears for loss families. Amazing!
